SoCon Realignment?

I've got a long post to make about this issue sometime this weekend. Until then, feel free to post your thoughts about the recent conference shuffle in the comments section.

EDIT: Sorry, I wrote the most of the post but got busy with some work stuff this past weekend. It's coming though. I'm also waiting for some responses from some people who know more about this than I do.

The Southern is a very good basketball conference- UNC-G is somewhat of a dinosaur with no football team-Would be a shame to lose Davidson and Charleston- However their are other good teams to replace them with if they leave- High Point University would be one- Coastal Carolina-UNCG Asheville-Winthrop

I want larger public universities that UNCG shares some commonvalues in athletics and academics. UNCW and UNCA stand out. I'd pass on Winthrop or CCU. Next up would be ETSU.

.....Or the weekend after that? LOL

I don't get paid to do this. If I have a couple of brutal work weeks or a vacation scheduled, that's just how it goes.

Here are some good invitations to send out SoCon front office to keep the pot interesting for Davidson; App State; and Charleston. Invite Belmont (for basketball); Murray State (for basketball); UNCW (for basketball); James Madison (for football); William & Mary (for football); and Coastal Carolina. Atleast make an attempt to invite some basketball proagrams that have a decent RPI ranking if the idea is to become a men's basketball multi bid league.

I keep hearing and reading rumors that Davidson; Charleston; and Elon are considering invites to the CAA. Elon and UNCG are permenant travel partners last time I checked so I guess that makes Greensboro a CAA expansion candidate also. We do have a forward thinking chancellor and a new progressive minded athletic director so the G nation wouldn't know anything until a deal is inked in black. Do I have any diggers out there?

G isn't in the huntfor these invites as of right now. Trust me on that one.
