- Moved back to 16 game schedule starting in 2013-2014. It was 18 games before.
- Tournament byes now go to the 2 division winners and then the next 2 teams with the best conference record. This change will take place in 2013.
- The league will create a position known as Men's Basketball Coordinator.
This individual, reporting to the Commissioner, will address issues designed to improve the league's performance in areas such as non-conference scheduling, participation in exempt events, and marketing opportunities and general promotion of the league's basketball tournament. All of these rules will henceforth be known as "The Davidson-Charleston Concessions" as that they were all designed to keep these two schools from leaving and going to the CAA.
Not sure if it'll work, though.

I hope they bring us (UNCG) with them if decide to leave for the CAA. The CAA appears to be focused more on building up their basketball profile and appears to be trying to expand southward in search of some new rilvaries for UNCW. Hint..hint..clue..clue..UNCG!! Get into the discussion SpartaNation!! A move like this would certainly give us a lot more television and it would certainly boast our recruiting status. The SoCon just wouldn't be the same without Davidson and Charleston and personally I wouldn't want to be a part of it. But that's just my opinion.
It would UNCG more television exposure is the point I was attempting to make (left the word exposure out..lol)
It would give UNCG more TV exposure. I give up with this grammar for today..smh
Elon; Furman; Davidson; and Charleston are all headed to the CAA per AppNation source 06/18/2012. Are you serious!! Why in the hect would we (UNCG) want to stick around with some BigSouth plugg-ins being added to this mess of a league (SoCon) that is going to be left behind!! I am no longer interested in our athletics if this is found to be true and I am pretty sure that majority of SpartaNation want be too far behind me!!
