July 4th Deadline for 3 SoCon Schools

According to the Charleston Post & Courier, the Southern Conference has given College of Charleston, Davidson and App State until July 4th to make their intentions known about leaving and joining the CAA. It's been reported by the Burlington Times-News that those three schools are the only ones that have been formally contacted. However, there were rumors last week that Elon and Furman had also been approached.

What so great about the CAA- Especially with the major teams leaving---Why would these teams want to give up their traditional rivaries-The Southern is an entertaining conference that plays damn good basketball---Davidson would be making a big mistake to leave- The real football schools have the best arguement to leave Need to continue to improve our basketball conference- UNCG on the way up--- However, I am a little disappointed in our recruits this year( primarily numbers)- I know we signed a good transfer for next year but want to win big now- Hopefully, our players are working on their game including our star Simpson--1. Shooting--2. Going to his left 3. Ball handling- Simpson is fun to watch Need more news about team- Excited about next year already

No such deadline has been issued by the SoCon front office. This is the CAA and some engaging schools trying to play politics to get reactive response..lol!!

^^Don't worry about recruiting yet. This '12 class was always going to be what it ended up being. This spring, they got 1 player they really wanted and a couple of transfers to fill in gaps. With a full summer of evaluation, I expect the '13 class to be much better.

^^Notice the July 4th deadline came in a story out of Burlington. There's a school there that would like to move this thing along. Sounds like you're close to being correct.
