On Vacation

As I mentioned in my last post, I'll be in (hopefully) sunny Florida from Wednesday until Sunday. So, I'm going to have to combine previews.

Chattanooga (8-10) @ UNCG (3-12)

Spartan Notes:
- UNCG pulled away from Elon in the second half Saturday to win 89-72 in Alumni Gym. All five Spartan starters scored in double figures, led by Mikko's 22 and Ben Stywall's double-double (15 pts & 12 rebs).
- After losing 10 straight games, The Spartans have won 2 or their past 3 games.
- The Spartans (2-4) are now tied with Samford for 4th in the North Division and are 1/2 game behind Appalachian State (3-4).
- Mikko Koivisto leads UNCG in points (13.3) and assists (2.9). Ben Stywall is averaging 9.6 points and a team high 9.1 rebounds.
- For the year, UNCG is shooting 39.4% from the field, 30.4% from behind the arc and 67.4% from the free throw line.

Mocs Notes:
- Chattanooga defeated Western Carolina at home on Saturday night. Stephen McDowell led the Mocs with 25 points.
-The Mocs have a conference record of 4-3 which puts them in second place of the North Division, 1/2 game behind Western Carolina.
-McDowell is the leading scorer (20.1). Nicchaeus Doaks is averaging 13.9 points and a team high 9.4 rebounds. Keyron Sheard leads the Mocs in assists (3.1).
- For the year, Chattanooga is shooting 43.3% from the field, 35.6% from behind the arc and 64.4% from the free throw line.

Bulldog Notes:
- Samford will play at Elon on Thursday night.
- Samford goes into that game with a conference record of 3-4. That's good enough to stand alone in 3rd place in the North Division.
- Brian Friday is the Bulldogs leading scorer (11.8). Trey Montgomery leads in rebounds (4.7) and Josh Davis leads in assists (3.1).
- On the year, Samford is shooting 45.8% from the field, 35.8% from 3 point range and 66.9% from the free throw line.
