"Taking Charge in Greensboro"

Here is an article on NCAA.com about Coach Miller taking over at UNCG. It's great to still see UNCG getting positive press. The more the Spartans win, expect to see more positive press.

"I don't think any of us in this program feel like we've been successful yet. We have big goals and dreams and not all of them have to do with winning streaks in the middle of the season," Miller said.

Also, Yahoo Sports' Pat Forde has this little blurb in in his coulmn on Rivals today ...

Back from the Dead
Teams and people we’ve all given up on at least once, and now are showing signs of life:

UNC-Greensboro. The Spartans were 2-14 at one point, with the victories over a non-Division I opponent and truly dreadful Towson. Then they won seven in a row before losing Saturday to Furman. They’re now 9-15 and second in their division in the Southern Conference, which is otherwise known as Davidson, Wofford and 10 stiffs.

Well, at least you're singled out from the 10 Stiffs....

"John" I was really impressed with the Mocs center when he played UNCG- He appeared to be very athletic. Apparently he does not dominate the league. What's his deal? Bob

Haha .. yeah, we're stiff but not dead.

Haha, Dash.

Bob- he should dominate the league. He just doesn't. He's not great on defense, and sometimes his head just isn't in the game for whatever reason. This especially seems to happen on the road. He's had his moments this year. Sometimes it seems like guys like him have a huge take off sometime early in the second year. I hope that's what happens next year. He should be scoring and rebounding in double digits almost every night in the SoCon- and he doesn't.

John

He came out and hit his first 4 or 5 shots against UNCG-- Looked like he could of easily scored 30 that night and then he suddenly just disappeared--He is quick and has a good jump hook-- One of the best players I have seen in Southern- Also very impressed with Samford's center and freshmasn foward-- Elon looked very good against App---Their guards may be their weakness--However, the guards were driving the ball right down the lane against App. Bob

Isenbarger might be the key for Elon. Their hot streak has been tied to his good play.

BTW, are you guys talking about Zlovaric? I think between him and Z Mason, UTC can have quite a physical presence in the future.

I am refering to Zlovaric--
Sebastian Koch for Elon against App was shooting great--I note that the Southern Conference has a lot of young players-- I would imagine that the All First Team for the Southern Conference would probably include two or three Davidson players due to their dominance of the Southern Conference- I would think UNCG's Simpson is a potential first teamer -Definately second team

My best guess at 1st team

- Cohen (POY)
- Simpson
- Groselle
- Ferguson
- Wiggins

Response to Dash: What about Nik Cochran? Davidson

You can easily substitute cochran for wiggins. De'Mon Brooks isn't far off either. Isenbarger, Windler, Loesing close too. Take your pick for that last spot. The first 4 are locks though, I think.
