- Ben Stywall --- it's a shame the Spartans' record isn't that good b/c Ben is putting up tremendous numbers against great competition that should have him looking like the SoCon POY. Instead he's kind of an afterthought to to opposing fans, until he terrorizes them on the boards. Stywall's stat line from this game 24 points, 14 rebounds & 2 assists.
- Rebounding --- This always seem to fall into the "positives" category. The Spartans out rebounded the Cats 36-31. They outscored them in second chance points 17-8.

Negatives
- 3 Point Shooting --- WCU 47.1% (8-17) vs UNCG 28.6% (4-14). UNCG has been horrible at shooting 3's this year. I really thought that with several new ball handlers, some of the Spartans that are better spot up shooters would have much a better season. It hasn't happened yet.
- Turnovers --- UNCG 22 vs WCU 15. Combine this stat with the Catamounts hitting 4 more 33 pointers and there's the ballgame.
