UNCG jumped out to a 48-31 halftime lead and then spent most of the second half either shooting free throws or waiting for a Paladin player to shoot a pair. 60 fouls were whistled between the 2 teams in a game that seemed to last 5 hours. Still, it's win #1 in the Greensboro Coliseum Era.

Positives
- Mikko, Welcome Back --- Congrats on getting to 1,000 points for your career.
- Turnovers, Assists --- 9 turnovers and 13 assists. I thought all of the UNCG guards played hard and made good choices. Also it was fun to see the guys use more of their natural talent and play with less fear.
- Scoring Options --- It was great to see 6 Spartans score in double figures. Also, it looks like Brian Cole is becoming more of a scoring force down low for the Spartans. He was the hot shooter of the first half and really helped jump start (along with Mikko) UNCG to its big halftime lead.

Negatives
- Free Throws --- 20 of 35 when they could have really made this game a no-brainer is tough. UNCG players seemed to tighten up when they really needed to make them. Let's hope that now that this first home win is in the rear view mirror, the guys will not be as tense at the line. It was good to see Kyle Randall step up and make a few when it really mattered the most.

It's going to be a quick turnaround for UNCG. The Spartans play at Chattanooga on Monday, Western Carolina on Thursday and App State on Saturday. However, the Spartans have now won at home.
