Spartan Notes:
- Last time out, App State went on a 11-0 run late to blow open a tied game in Boone. The Mountaineers beat UNCG 72-64. Ben Stywall lead UNCG with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
- UNCG fell to 0-15 when scoring less than 70 points. The Spartans are 3-0 when scoring above the magic 70 point mark.
- The Spartans now sit at 2-5 in the Southern Conference. They are 3 1/2 games behind North Division leader Western Carolina.
- UNCG's home record is rough at 1-8. However, the last time at the Coliseum UNCG beat Furman 88-78.
- Ben Stywall leads UNCG in scoring (13.7) and rebounding (9.8). Kyle Randall leads the team in assists (2.2).
- For the year, UNCG is shooting 38.0% from the field, 27.7% from behind the arc and 70.8% from the free throw line.

Mocs Notes:
- Last time out, College of Charelston got a solid effort from Andrew Goudelock (22 points) and defeated Chattanooga 90-66. Ricky Taylor lead the Mocs with 14 points.
- UTC fell to 3-2 in SoCon play. They are 1 1/2 games behind North Division leader WCU.
- The Mocs defeated UNCG just 11 days ago at McKenzie Arena, 58-45. UNCG led 26-20 at the break, but UTC's solid defense and sharp shooting made this game a run away in the second half.
- Ty Patterson leads UTC in scoring (14.9). Ridge McKeither leads in rebounding (5.2)and Keegan Bell leads the team in assists (4.9).
- For the season, UTC is shooting 43.5% from the field, 34.1% from behind the arc and 64.3% from the free throw line.

My Thoughts:
In a weird scheduling twist, this is only the second game of the year that has occurred while UNCG has been in session. Maybe having some students in the crowd can add to the atmosphere and make things a little more electric at the coliseum.

UNCG played well in the first half at the roundhouse, but couldn't hit anything in the second half. Coupled with the Mocs hitting some difficult shots, the Spartans really didn't have a chance. Hopefully, the time off has given UNCG a chance to find their legs and get ready for a must win home game

Go Spartans !!!
